Content is the key factor in any resume, and should necessarily contain all your relevant strengths that you want to convey to your potential employer.

The following is the basic structure or model that your resume should follow:

  1. Objective: In one or two lines you have to set out the exact reason for applying for that particular job. However, if you are going for a job fair which involves a number of avenues, do not put in this as it would narrow down your prospects to your potential employer.
  2. Educational Qualifications: Put down all the relevant educational qualifications that you have bagged during all those years of your academic life. Make sure you highlight your strengths as this is the most important section your potential employers would look into.
  3. Skill Sets that are Job-related: Put down the relevant skills that are related to your job profile. Remember to put down only the RELEVANT skills.
  4. Knowledge of Computer Applications: A basic knowledge of computer is required in all job profiles today, thus make it a point to highlight all the computer programs that you are proficient in.
  5. Certifications: Add other relevant diplomas/certificate programs that you have undergone. WAIT! There is more to read… read on »
